Moms love it when their babies are the center of attraction, isn’t that right moms? Even my mom would definitely say yes, she would probably say something in the lines of “My baby is the cutest thing in the world so of course I’d want you to be the center of attraction”, well, that’s how moms are right? And one of the trendiest right now to make your cute little baby the center of attraction, not that she wasn’t in the first place is headbands. Of course not every mom has the same taste as the next one and that’s why there are different kinds of headbands for babies. A common misconception for these headbands is that it’s for the babies with less hair, that’s incorrect; it’s for every baby that looks good with it!

When looking for headbands for babies the things that you should ask yourself is that; does it leave marks? Does it fit? Is it fashionable? Can I accessorize it and is it worth it? With just those questions moms would have different taste for each. Almost all of the headbands for babies don’t leave marks when used since it’s made from soft material, although it still needs to be noted that it isn’t good to keep the headband on for too long on a baby’s head, even if it doesn’t mark it might cause the baby to feel some irritation. Normally these headbands fit the baby’s heads fine, although you might want to check the fit when you’re buying your baby a lace type of headband, since the sizes vary with this one. Nylon types are stretchy and can fit baby’s heads perfectly but they aren’t really advisable to wear for toddlers.

One of the most important things to be thought of when it comes to headbands is that: Is it fashionable? Will my baby look good in it? Will this fit with her dress? Those questions are always in one’s head when looking through accessories. If you want to sew a loop into the headband I’d advise a classic nylon one. Crochet headband can be sewed with a ribbon as well, although most moms prefer this type of headband without loops, aside from the fact that simplicity is best for these, a ribbon loop might also cause a red marking when taking it off. Another option instead of sewing a loop is just clipping it into the band, if you don’t like the metal clip though, then it’s better to sew the loop into the headband. Pantyhose headbands or what they call as “home-made” headbands are the easiest to decorate and accessorize however they can be snagged by infants.

Once these questions are answered then you can decide if it is worth it. As they always say “Moms want the best for their babies.” A little thing like an accessory worn by your baby is already big impact to how they look. Of course aside from fashion, the comfort of the baby needs to be addressed as well. So when choosing headbands for babies, don’t just buy because it’s cheap, buy it because it’s the best for your loved one.
